Giridih, Jharkhand:
A minimum of three individuals had been killed and 24 others injured when a bus fell right into a river from a bridge in Jharkhand’s Giridih district on Saturday night time, police stated. The accident passed off at Giridih Dumri Highway round 8.40 pm when the bus fell into the Barakar river whereas on method to Giridih from Ranchi, Giridih Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Anil Kumar informed PTI.
“Extra particulars can’t be assessed proper now as rescue and aid operations are being carried,” the official stated.
Giridih Civil Surgeon, Dr SP Mishra informed PTI: “Three individuals have been declared lifeless whereas 24 are injured within the incident.” In the meantime, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren stated the district administration and police are engaged in rescue operations.
Mr Soren in a tweet in Hindi stated “Unhappy information has been obtained {that a} bus from Ranchi to Giridih met with an accident within the Barakar river in Giridih, Jharkhand. Rescue work is being carried out by the district administration…” Giridih Superintendent of Police, Deepak Sharma stated he was on the spot overseeing rescue operations.
