India’s bold third moon mission, Chandrayaan-3 was efficiently inserted into the lunar orbit on Saturday, the ISRO stated. The required manoeuvre was achieved from an ISRO facility, the city-headquartered area company stated in a tweet.
“Chandrayaan-3 has been efficiently inserted into the lunar orbit. A retro-burning on the Perilune was commanded from the Mission Operations Advanced (MOX), ISTRAC ( ISRO Telemetry, Monitoring and Command Community), Bengaluru,” the company stated in a tweet.
Perilune is the spacecraft’s closest level to the moon.

Then, on August 1 in a key maneuver — a slingshot transfer — the craft was despatched efficiently in the direction of the Moon from Earth’s orbit.
