Iran has introduced Wednesday and Thursday this week might be public holidays due to “unprecedented warmth” and informed the aged and other people with well being situations to remain indoors, Iranian state media reported.
Many cities in southern Iran have already suffered from days of remarkable warmth. State media reported temperatures had this week exceeded 123 levels Fahrenheit (51 Celsius) within the southern metropolis of Ahvaz.
Authorities spokesman Ali Bahadori-Jahromi was quoted by state media as saying Wednesday and Thursday could be holidays, whereas the well being ministry stated hospitals could be on excessive alert.
